There is considerable benefit to us in understanding the meaning and significance of “Tishri.”

Tishri is a Babylonian word the Children of Israel adopted and brought with them out of their captivity.  Furthermore, it is a term that translates to mean a second beginning.  The same month the Israelites returned to Caanan after 70 years of Babylonian exile, they called it “Tishri,” thusly assigning to it this “Second Beginning” moniker.

They reestablished themselves in the place God promised to their fathers.  They also assumed the position of dominance in the region God intended for them to have.  Today, Tishri marks the first and the seventh month of the Hebrew Civil and Religious Calendars respectively.

This meaning becomes personal for us because for a number of years our church has been somewhat isolated.  We have been hidden away and have not demonstrated the dominion God gave us in Genesis 1:26.  However, I believe God is now freeing us.  What is more is He is positioning us to have dominion.  So, because of its meaning, “Tishri” is the name God has given me for our church’s 20-month second beginning.

Here is the significance, all these things, the first month, the seventh month, and the 20-months, have symbolism.  Biblically speaking, the first typically symbolizes “The Most Holy” thing, or the thing that has been sanctified; set apart.  The number One also represents God.  Next, seven is “God’s Perfect Number,” and it means fullness or completion.  Thirdly, the number 20 symbolizes a “Period of Waiting.”  The revelation here is our Tishri Season is a period God has sanctified, or set apart, for our perfection.
